On 19 June 1893, Morris also gave a lecture to the members of the Bibliographical Society at the University of London. His paper, entitled “The Ideal Book”, was published the same year in the Transactions of the Bibliographical Society. In his statement, Morris sketched out a kind of exemplary model of the book based on its “architectural arrangement”, itself based on three points: the clarity of the pages, the design of the typefaces used and the proportionality of the spaces.
